Unfortunately not everyone has the time to learn a form of self defense. Which is the reason why the public opt to acquire a stun gun. A stun gun has the ability to disable an attacker through the extreme voltage of electricity it delivers. Since the shock is delivered at very low amperage, you can be assured that the attacker won’t die, but the victim will have plenty of time to make their escape. That way, they won’t have to live with the heavy burden of killing another human being and yet they’ll be safe.

Most of the time people believe that acquiring a gun is an ideal solution to self defense. But guns are extremely dangerous, not to mention very expensive. Looking after a gun to keep it working is also an additional expense, on top of the bullets.

On the other hand, the cost of a stun gun is typically about 25% that of a handgun. The only upkeep is with the batteries, which are much cheaper than a cleaning kit or a box of bullets. Keeping fresh batteries is important if you want your stun gun to be an effective self defense weapon.

The main focus that is needed with a stun gun is in the un-holstering of it. It is imperative to be able to pull out the stun gun rapidly when you need to use it on an attacker. However, it takes little practice to master it, unlike a handgun which must be taken out for target practice quite often. Not only that, but you will also see the bullets start to build.

Sadly the world we live in is filled with unnecessary violence, raising the question: why no we need more? Consequently when it comes to a stun gun, its use of killing someone is unlikely than that of a handgun, even if it is still an effective weapon. I think the choice as a self defense weapon is obvious, both in monetary cost and moral cost.
